On Sept. 14, 2005, Don Armstrong was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). In 2010, after five rounds of chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant, Armstrong has remained in remission for five years – a significant milestone for any cancer survivor.
Armstrong’s determination and courage led him to create the Finish Your Race™ campaign to not only celebrate his survival and raise money for the cause, but to run for those who cannot finish their race.
An avid marathon runner, Armstrong ran seven marathons with Team In Training since his stem cell transplant. He is currently an author and motivational speaker – teaching others to finish their race in all areas of life with courage, confidence, grace and a positive spirit.
Armstrong resides in Fort Worth, TX with his wife, Kathryn.
