Why Raise Money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society?

The world’s largest voluntary health organization, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was a natural fit for Armstrong, a blood cancer survivor, and he immediately felt a connection with the organization and its efforts. The organization has invested more than $600 million in research, nearly $71.4 million in fiscal year 2008 alone. Research funded by LLS has led or contributed to standard therapies such as chemotherapy, bone marrow and stem cell transplantation and new targeted oral therapies such as Gleevec®.

The money will be donated to the Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) research portfolio for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
